Coronation StreetNewest Review: ... in every night episode and just cant quite stop myself. I wouldnt say i particulary love it, more that i just cant quite find it within myself to turn it off! It does have some fantastic characters both past and present, some of my favorites being people like the Duckworths and more recently Graham and Kirk etc - they are always funny to watch! Im a believer that for soaps to be amongst the better ones, the comedy element is the key, and this is where Corrie tops the bill! It manages the balance between the more depressing elements of daily life in weatherfield, without it just becoming a heavy half hour of doom and gloom like some other... more |

I grew up in a house where my mother didnt really bother watching any TV other than soap operas! One of my earliest TV memories probably involves Hilda Ogden and Bet Lynch! At 32 years old i still tune in every night episode and just cant quite stop myself. I wouldnt say i particulary love it, more that i just cant quite find it within myself to turn it off! Coronation Stree, better known as Corrie, has been running on ITV since 1960. It was first aired in black and white, and tells the lives of the inhabitants of Coronation Street in a Manchester suburb. The cobbled streets and old buildings, coupled with the relaxing and soothing brass theme music for the programme mask a street full of controversy, and this has been the case since it started all those years ago. It is, along with Eastenders, the forerunner of British soaps. The two soaps have long endured competition, with Emmerdale, also an ITV soap, sort of taking a permanent 3rd place role. You see the lives of the one street as they mingle and storylines ... Read the complete review

Coronation Street, a soap that has been on our screens for 49 years. Many a year as passed, along with many storyline, and the arrival and departure's of many characters. I've been observing this street most of the time throughout this decade. THE CONCEPT Coronation Street is based around a bunch of characters, who live on the street in Manchester, and go about there day to day lives - of which are perhaps more dramatic than and an average person's. There are several 'classic' family names that have been on the show for the entirety, or a good portion of Coronations Street's existence, such as the Barlow's, Webster's, McDonalds. WHY WE ... This is a great British T.V series that is screened on I.T.V1 on a Monday, Thursday and Friday. The show is basicaly set in a fictitous street near to Manchester. There is a great story line going on at the moment with the shows villain Tony Gordon the co owner of the local knicker factory. Gordon had one of the shows characters Liam killed off when he found out he was having an affair with his girlfriend Carla the other partner in the knicker factory,Carla left the show but has now returned to reap her revenge on Tony. Gordon is now engaged to Liams wife Maria who has since given birth to Liams son. There is also an affair going on with ... Read the complete review

I thought writing this review was going to be easy because everyone knows what Coronation Street's about but when I got started I realised there's loads to say about this soap that has been running for 50 years next year! There's loads of characters in Corrie but not many of them now have been in it for a long time. Ken Barlow and Emily Bishop are the 2 who have been in it the longest and they have been starring since more or less the beginning in 1960, Ken still gets loads of good storylines but Emily doesn't. Coronation Street is set in Weatherfield and most of the characters all live on the street. The famous Rover's Return is the pub where a ... Read the complete review
