Advantages: Some good characters

Disadvantages: Not very entertaining

Coronation Street is a very famous British soap which has been running for many years now. It is in direct competition with another show, Eastenders. I am not a big fan of soaps in general and this one really gets on my nerves to say the least. The story-lines are often ridiculously far-fetched and are so distant from reality it is untrue. Every couple of weeks someone seems to die or end up in a real pickle one way or another. It is meant to be a show that relates to people in Britain today but to be honest i see it as being pretty distant from reality, yes i know it is just a TV show but it is not that entertaining and a little pointless. There are some great characters to provide much needed laughs though, for example Blanche i find hilarious. Not ground breaking TV but serves a purpose.

Summary: A mediocre soap
