Coronation Street is one of if not the worlds longest running TV show, and I have watched it for years, before I went to America, on the odd occasion of there, and even more now that I am back (I am trying to catch up). Over the 40 odd years it has been running, it has had more than 1000 regular characters, some of which are still on screen today, including the likes of Ken Barlow, who was in the show from the begining. As much as I like the show, that all of the other soaps, it does go through some dry periods where not much action happens, and even when it does, the story behind is a bit wild, and nothing like real life (and I know it is a TV show, but some reality please). Over the years, there has been countless briths, marriages and even more deaths, many of which are at the hands of killers, and we will never forget Richard Hillman, the first ever soap serial killer. It seems to me that there is never any hapiness if you live on Coronation Street, there is always a fight, especially in the pub (and by the way, the whole street must be full with alcoholics as they are always in the pub drinking), or people having affairs. I would hate to live there, but when you think about it, it is kind of exciting. Sometimes, the only disadvantage is that there are numerous storylines running at once, so it can become quite hard to follow, but if you are a regular viewer, you should be fine. If I had to choose behind this, Eastender, and Emmerdale, I really dont know which one I would choose.
Summary: Great soap
