I'm still convinced that machines don't rule my life. However, during the second series of Coupling, I was happy to let it. After watching the first episode, I cleared Monday nights in my diary and ensured that I was always free come 10pm.

It was worth it. Coupling has to be the finest thing to come out of the BBC. The script is incredibly well written, the characters well rounded and the humour infinitely more diverse than most. Every episode is a masterpiece that will have you howling with laughter and marvelling at the writers' insight into the unspoken issues of the twentysomething sexual struggle.

The most hilarious part has to be Jeff's observations and rules of dating & interaction, of which a new one is delivered every episode. However, the portrayal of Patrick as the unashamed chauvenist takes a far more subtle form that the slob behaviour that shows like Men Behaving Badly capitalise on.

I own the first series on video now and I've watched it probably far too much than is good for me. I'm waiting for the second series to be released so, once again, that machine can rule my life.
