CSI Miami was inspired by the top-rated American series 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation'. CSI Miami is a drama that follows a South Florida team of Forensic Investigators who solve crimes by using cutting edge science and old fashioned police work.

The main man is Horatio Caine played by David Caruso. A CSI Level 3 Supervisor, Horatio is a former NYPD homicide detective, a forensic analyst, and former bomb squad officer. Horatio is very protective of his team, and goes out of his way to assist them in work and personal issues. He is an outstanding marksman, with a serious, direct and to the point demeanor. He is skilled in dealing with children who have been thorough trauma, and stays calm in all situations.

Horatio heads the best crime scene investigation team in Miami, who work the crimes in the heat and cross cultures of Miami. Each week we follow the lives of the team as they try to solve the murders and bring the culprits to trial.

The team:-
Cailleigh Duquesne, a CSI Level 3 Assistant Supervisor. Calleigh's slight build, blonde good looks and Southern accent can lead others to wrongly underestimate her, as she is highly skilled and good at her job. Her speciality is ballistics (firearms).

Eric Delko is a CSI Level 3, and is the underwater recovery expert with a soft spot for Calleigh.

Ryan Wolfe is a CSI Level 1, a former patrol officer who specialises in blood and trace evidence.

Natalia Boa Vista is a CSI Trainee and DNA specialist.

Dr Tara Price is the new Medical Examiner/Coroner replacing Dr Alexx Woods, who left to become an ER Doctor. Dr Price seems to have a secret that has not been exposed - yet.

Helping Horatio on the police side is tough but trustworthy Detective Frank Tripp.

The show is fast paced, with great Miami scenery shown off with clever flitering to make it colourful and bright. Scenes are varied, with shots in the high-tech crime labs, interview rooms, the streets of Miami, the water, and numerous crime scenes themselves.

A couple of crimes run parallel and are usually solved in one episode.

It's a great show to watch, the only negative is that it can obviously be a bit repetitive, in that each episode has a sequence of crime - process of solving - and outcome. Most shows I can think of have this problem though, so maybe an unfair criticism.

Summary: worth watching
