I love Dale's supermarket sweep. I used to watch it when it was ITV1 and I was home from College in the holidays or on a study day. It's not on terrestrial TV any more but it is on most days on the cable channel Challenge. Dale's supermarket sweep stars Dale Winton. They don't make it any more, so there's only repeats, but that's good enough for me. Each show has 3 sets of contestants. Each set of contestants has two people, these can be a couple, friends or relatives. The teams each compete against each other to win the rounds of the game and compete in the sweep at the end to win £2000. There are several rounds including games such as ...  Read the complete review

I used to watch Supermarket Sweep a few years back now when it first started in the 1990's more so for the interactive and fun idea for a gameshow rather than for the host Dale Winton. I have to admit I found him quite irritating when he first came on our screens but I tolerate him a bit more now. The show used to be broadcast on ITV and I still see repeats every now and again on certain TV channels. The gameshow as stated was one of the most unique and original ideas I'd seen which is mainly why I used to enjoy it and featured three teams competing against each other. Each team consisted of two players. In the first half of the programme all the teams were ...  Read the complete review

Each team would be made up of 2 players. In the first half of the game, the teams would compete against one another in a number of quizzes and puzzles in order to build up time on their clocks. Each team starts with 1 minute and they get an extra 10 seconds for each correct answer in these various rounds. In the second half, they have the time they built up to dash round the supermarket filling their trolleys with items. There are bonus items around the supermarket and also you get a ...  Read the complete review

Supermarket Sweep was a TV show that ran from 1992 until 2001, and then returned last year in 2007 for a 60 episode run. It is based on the American gameshow of the same name that has been running across the pond since the 1960s. The British version is hosted by Dale Winton, in a rather Maplins style camp way. He brings a lot of charisma to the screen. The show features three teams of two competing for the grand prize at the end. First time around, prize money was £2000. This went up to £5000 in 2007. In the first half of the show, teams would answer questions to increase the amount of time they have on the clock, and then in the second half, they ...  Read the complete review
