Advantages: Great show, good judges, fantastic hosts, sensational Torvill & Dean!

Disadvantages: It's not on the TV right now :(

Dancing On Ice is shown on ITV1 on Saturday nights (not broadcast at present) and runs for around 12 weeks. It is a reality programme where celebrities take part by ice skating and each week one of them is voted off by a combination of votes from the members of the public and scores from the 5 judges.

Each year there are different celebrities and these may vary from singers to actors to football stars. It is fantastic that they have a broad range of people on the show and most of them have never even ice skated in the past before so that brings something extra to the show as you get to see people increase from week to week.

The hosts of the show are Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby and Christopher Dean & Jayne Torvill also appear on each show giving the contestants training & advice throughout the weeks and showing them what this weeks required element is and this must be included in their dance routine for the week (although they don't automatically get the boot if they fail to do it correctly!), they also create all of the routines for the contestants and they really push them to better themselves and becoming more imaginative each week. They also perform a dance themselves each week at the start of the show and they really are sensational skates.

I really enjoying watching this show and there is lots of interaction for people at home as you can call and vote for the act that you want to save. Then the two acts in the bottom two will have to repeat their performance and then the judges will decide between them which act to save. It is a very gripping show and I always find myself watching the whole of each series. I believe it is due to start again towards the end of the year and I'm looking forward to my Saturday nights infront of the box again already!

I am rating the show 5/5 as the format is fantastic, I always really like at least one of the celebrities and I just love Holly & Philip!
