I started to watch Dark Angel before all the hype about Jessica Alba started and I still thought she was awesome. Anyway, Dark Angel has an amazing original concept and a great cast to help pull this through. It is post apocalyptic America and an under the radar government program called Manticore breeds the perfect soldiers. The Setting: Dark Angel is set in the future. A group of terrorists have attacked America with an electromagnetic pulse resulting in the destruction of computers, communication systems etc. The series takes place in Washington where the majority of people are now living in poverty, the authorities are corrupt and there are big restrictions on where people can go within the city. The Backstory: There is a facility called Manticore where they create genetically engineered soldiers. My 'Dark Angel' or DA (I have always been just so fond of abbreviations) phase began one Monday night when I was channel-surfing in vain for something worthwhile to watch. "Music videos from the Seventies? No. A Popeye the Sailor Man marathon? No. Oh please let 'The Simpsons' be on- damn, they've just finished for the night.
