“ Darren has three kids who he's missed whilst in the Big Brother house. He's been accused of being a bit of a wuss, but he's never been two-faced or backstabbing. According to the bookies, he's the least likely to walk away with the 70k. „
Darren Ramsey was a great asset to the Big Brother house, with his great personality and his good looks. He was the only member of the house who is a parent, being a father to three beautiful children. He became famous throughout the country for his chicken phobia, which he soon overcame, so that he ended up developing quite a relationship with one of the chickens, which he called Marjorie ! He was also one of the best cooks in the house, impressing everyone with his meals and being able to create nice things to eat out of their tiny budget. He did very well in the competitive aspect of the programme, reaching the final three and although his weekly reasons for his nominations were rather dubious, he was a great guy overall. Since leaving the show, he has done some modelling and quite a bit of television work, his latest being a spot on 'This Morning' suggesting presents for Christmas, which he did brilliantly. I hope to see more of him on television in the future. *UPDATE* Darren was featured in the recent Channel 4 programme of December 23rd, where they interviewed the Big Brother contestants and found out the latest on their lives. He is going to Jamaica with Christian Aid to raise awareness for HIV and AIDS over there. He said he felt it was important to lend his name to some charities and to use his newly-found fame in this positive way. He said he also hopes to pursue a career in TV presenting.
Darren has to be one of my favourite characters from the Big Brother . He's funny , gossipy and always ready for a prank . One of the things he must be most famous for is Majorie the chicken who he named and famed in the Big Brother house . Darren does however have a slight tendancy to go over the top . The first glimpse we saw of this was when Nick (Nasty !) left the house . He exclaimed that Nick was "Sick" and he was scared of him . The other housemates seemed to keep control of the situation whereas he flew right off of the handle . The second time was pretty unlucky for him . He was casting his votes and the supposedley sound proof diary room let out sound if that makes sense ! He voted Melanie and Craig and the others heard . Melanie was under the impression that she was the goody too shoes of the house but many had found her slightly too judgmental one of these was Darren . When he found out about this he asked to change his votes . This was the wrong move a vote is a vote Melanie has to vote for someone and so does Darren . Everyone kept their original votes in the revote except Darren . He could and should have kept the same votes but he changed them . Melanie had got her way and many of the public were angry at this . This possibly is the reason she got the boot . Anyway I think Darren should have won . He gave up all that time being nice to everyone for nothing .
The first thing I've got to say is, what the hell was the chicken thing all about?? One minute he's got a chicken phobia, the next the closest thing we got to housemates getting it on was Darren and Marjory. To be fair I didn't really have too much against Darren, he was quite lively and entertaining. The only things I could hold against him were those little blue pants he kept walking around in and the reasons he gave for nominating people. At first I thought it was a good thing that he wasn't bad-mouthing the other housemates but after a while it grew thin. The only thing I've heard about Darren since the end of Big Brother is that he's reported to have signed a 6 figure deal to advertise Chicken Tonight. It's not clear yet if Marjory will be starring with him!
Darren is so slow and stupid it hurts! He chooses dodgy reasons for nominating someone and he has to think for five seconds before saying someone's name as his brain doesn't work too fast. He is obsessed with chickens and is camp to say the least. He goes on about his kids, but it looked like they'd never seen him before when they paraded them out to him in the studio. Some father, eh? He says on Richard And Judy show that he isn't going to rush into any offers, which is so dumb as the offers will fade in two months, when interest in these ten fools will die a death. He didn't deserve to win, and I'm glad he didn't.
I'm not quite sure what to make of Darren. He certainly has been a busy lad, father of three at the age of 22! Darren is the least likely to walk away with the winnings according to the bookies. The nation seems to have warmed to Craig and Anna more than Darren. He does have his good points, did you see him getting up in the middle of the night to help Craig with baby Juaneta? There to offer his fatherly advice, bless! And last night we saw him busy inventing games for their party whilst the other two were asleep. Well you never know, he may win, let's wait and see tonight.
Darren has never been a very popular member of the Big Brother household. He is often bitched about by the other housemates, called a lazy and selfish. But although I have been an avid viewer of Big brother since the show began, I am yet to see proof of this. From what I can make out he is a very genuine contestant, someone who is generous and warm with a good sense of humour. He also has a habit of mothering the rest of the group (though whether this is a good thing or not is not for me to decide). He cooks, he cleans and he encourages the others to do their bit. Another thing I’ve noticed about him is his reluctance to slag off his housemates and his aim is to get on with all of them, however diverse their personalities are. We were given proof of this when he changed his vote from Mel to Claire when Melanie over heard her name being said, and declined to vote for Craig after he was hurt about being voted for three weeks in a row. I then find myself wondering why he isn’t more popular. The things I picked up are that the rest of the group don’t like being told what to do by an equal, also, the boys thought Darren as ‘a wuss’ simply because he isn’t afraid to show his feminine side. Darren’s only fault (in my opinion) is his obsession with chickens. It’s hard to believe he was scared of them at the start and now he dotes of them. It’s stupid. And he’s always bringing up the subject of body parts: Claire’s breasts, Mel’s genital piercings, etc. Other than that, I think he’s a total sweetheart and he’ll definitely be getting my vote to win this Friday.
Darren is everyone's favourite contestant - although they won't admit it! He cracks me up with his infectious laugh and his ability to laugh at almost anything! He has a natural ability to get on with everyone and that has been proven over the last nine weeks. I'm sure he'll be very dissapointed to lose out to Anna in the end (because she will win!), but he has given me many comedy moments throughout the series. I hope he will go on to do something else on TV because if Nick can do it, then anyone can! The only down side to Darren were/are his lame excuses for nominating other housemates. Almost every week his excuse for nominating Craig and Tom was because they both had their own business and he felt they wanted to find out how they were doing. How lame is that? I know it must've been a nightmare doing that week in, week out, but I mean, really.....! So, that is why he won't win the British TV phenomenon of the decade!
Darren is clearly the most boring person on TV, in Britain, and on Earth. In the last 8 weeks he has mooched around in his boxer shorts, occasionally crying like a three-year old child, and attempted to abuse the chickens. He makes appallingly weak attempts to justify his nominations, and when devious Mel cryed about him nominating her (heaven forbit!), like a cowardly weasel he changes his vote. Darren is not only a coward, but completely humourless. Name one funny thing he has said in eight weeks...? Name one interesting quote? What in sum has he spoken about, well himself, himself, oh and himself! Darren is egotistical and dull. I hope he doesn't win or it'll give encouragement to our kids to become characterless, wimpy, self-absorbed individuals!
I, think Darren will be close to winning the prize money. He seems like a good bloke. I felt sorry for him when everyone heard his vote, and that he had nominated for MEL and Craig. It must have been an awful situation to be in, especilly when Mel started crying. He changed his vote, but that got him into the bad books of Claire, as she figured out that he must have voted her out. I, also like him because he loves his daughter, when it was one of his daughters birthday, he was clearly touched when BIG BROTHER had a video message for Darren....his reaction was so sweet, and it showed a caring side of him, that many people haven't showed. He his also a good cook, loves laughing cause he his always. A truely good guy, not a wus as Craig calls him.
Its not often you get to see a real live sensitive man. I like Darren, call a wimp if you must, but he seems like an ok guy to me. At least he is aware of others feelings as demonstrated in the nomination mess up. He's also gullible - Nick sucked him in. And his laugh would seriously irritate me, but he's funny, fit and an overall nice guy. Does he have a hidden agenda? I doubt it, I'm surprised he lasted this long, he's not really a man's man is he? Being scared of chickens labelled him a wuss to start with. So Darren is a family man, missing his children and was not really bothered if he went last night. I can't see the male viewing population voting for him, they like Craig a red blooded mail with the prize seriously in his sights. I honestly hope he can win the £70,000, but I fear the editing has portrayed him as a wimp and thats not going to benefit him.
Although the way in which he nominates is a bit strange (saying that he will vote for someone because they are homesick! and excuse perhaps?), I really cannot see why the others have such a downer on him, I have not heard him moan once, he seems genuinely funny and honest and I felt sorry that his nomination was overheard (bit silly to change the vote though). Craig leave poor Darren alone, he makes me laugh!, I for one would like either Darren of Anna to win (the 2 people who are least fussy, moany and slaggy offy!). Darren but that chicken down!
Without doubt the most limp character left in the house has to be darren. The way he over reacted when he realised that melanie had overheard him nominate her and then for him to change his vote just underlined how spineless he is portraying himself to be. Whilst he tries to come across as the most laid back character in the house with his relaxed style, this can only be because he is desparate to be seen as nice and doesn't have the belief to stand up for himself. At least the others have a bit about themselves.
Darren has always seemed like a nice guy throughout Big Brother, cheerful and fun when with the others, but it looks like he could be evicted next week. Some people think he's just in it for the money though he doesn't come across that way in the house. When nominating, he had a different way of doing it from the other house members. While the others always gave reasons based on their relationships with their choices, his sounded so nice :) For example, this week he nominated Craig so that he could get back to his business and see how it was doing, and Mel so that she could go home and see her Mum. The others overheard his nominations last week and didn't believe his reasons, and they've become a bit more wary of him because they think he's playing a game. However it doesn't seem like he's playing a game in the house like Nick was. It might be that he so genuinely didn't want to say bad things about anyone, he said the things he did rather than say negative things. So come on everyone... give Darren a chance!
Am I the only person who isn't fooled by Darren? It is obvious that he is trying to come across nice on camera, mentioning in his family all the time trying to get the sympathy vote, "err... I have a dozen kids that need feeding", well why aren't you at home WORKING instead of taking part in a game show? And what is it with that chicken? Also, doesn't it annoy you that come nomination time he votes for the two lads (now ones gone) and gives some excuse like, "err... they have a business that they need to check on", well jeese Darren thanks for caring but I'd rather have the £70,000. Hey, that chicken, they got along so much cause they've got a lot in common.
Darren is nice ? really nice. In fact, he?s so nice that I want him out of the house. Every week the contestants go to the diary room with their nominations for expulsion. Darren?s list varies, but you can always be sure of one thing. He only wants his nominations out for the best of reasons. Melanie is missing her family, Craig would love the chance to get back to work. Basically Darren just wants to win the game like everyone else. But why can?t he just admit the real reasons for nomination, Caroline gets on my nerves, Tom can?t cook. Don?t get me wrong, I don?t think he?s a cynical manipulator like Nick was. He?s clearly missing his daughter and is firmly attached to the chickens. But when he gets into the diary room, I?m not sure why he can?t be truthful about his motivation. Can?t he admit to himself that he?s not perfectly nice, does he want to maintain the image or is he really made of pure sugar? I do remember in one of the first episodes, Darren being asked if he considered himself to be the token black. He said no, and I agree with him. The truth is that he?s no different to anyone else there. They?re all young, trendy, liberal, clubbers. And despite what it might seem, Darren has not been my worse on the show. It?s not the world?s greatest sin to be nice, but with only four people left, he is now my top choice to get thrown out. I mean, can Marjorie the chicken really take much more?
