Set in the sleepy New England town of Capeside, Dawson’s Creek follows the lives of 6 troubled teens.

Firstly there’s Pacey, the prankster and the good-looking one.
He is the best friend of Dawson, who’s a bit of a nerd and very irritating. Wants to makes movies when he’s older, though I doubt that’d ever happen with his limited talents.
Joey is a tomboy and the love of his life. Throughout the three series their relationship has been very on-off. At the end of Series 3 she sailed off to spend the summer with Pacey, putting a large rift in his and Dawson’s friendship.
Andie is the girly one. She used to go out with Pacey but got with someone else after she went away for a while to get over a mental illness.
Jack is her brother, the non-stereotypical gay guy. Went out with Joey for a while before he figured out he was homosexual.
And finally, there’s Jen. She’s the independent, straight talking, laid back one. Went out with Dawson in Series 1 and had a brief fling with Pacey at one point too. She is currently seeing Henry, who’s her complete opposite, after overcoming some initial problems.

The actors who play them are extremely talented for such a young age and most of them have also starred in some other American teen movies and television programmes such as Buffy, Roswell and Popular.

Most of the storylines revolve around the intricate relationships between the six friends, but in the past there have also been storylines on bigger and more important things such as sex, drink and death. I’ve also read that there’s going to be an ecstasy scare storyline in Series 4.

But like I said before, the majority of the plots are about who’s got it together with who and what friction this is causing within the group. Although this scenario is wearing a bit thin after so many similar episodes, its still quite realistic, with lots of drama to hol
d your interest and I think teenagers can relate to and learn something from it, which is the most important thing with this sort of programme which is aimed at adolescents.

On it’s down side, I think sometimes it gets overly sentimental and often the poetic dribble the characters come out with is a bit silly and not exactly the sort of thing 16-year-old boys would come out with.

Other than that, it is a pleasure to watch these six gorgeous people deal with their dilemmas in the most complicated way you can imagine. Recommended to teenage girls especially.

Dunno, it's a bit too plain, you want a Bulgarian red for real flavour. Dawson? Phh. I don't know what else you could have said about the rather pants series, but there seemed to be something missing from your review. It doesn't read easily, I think. Still, useful.

I opened a bottle of Jacob's Creek 2 days ago. Very nice Australian sparkling wine. Seems reasonably interesting.
