This is a program that has been running for a few years now, centering around the main character Dawson (James Van Der Beek) and his friends. The original cast of his friends was just Pacey (Josh Jackson) who was his best friend, Jen (Michelle Williams) and Joey (Katie Holmes) But then came along Jack (Kerr Smith) and Andie (Meredith Monroe)

The whole show centers around these characters who are often very over the top but do touch on very possible subject that it is important in a teenagers life.
DAWSON
Basically he is or should I say was in love with Joey and thinks that they are meant to be together, he has a mother and a father whoa re always at each other’s throats or all over each other.
JOEY
She lives with her sister, Bessie and they run a B and B, her mother died when she was young.
PACEY
He is the class clown although more recently has fallen in love with Joey and become a little more responsible. He lives with his brother, Doug who is a policeman.
JEN
She used to live in New York with her parents but came to Capeside to try to sort her life out, she lives with her Grandma.
JACK
He lives with his father and is gay, he came to Capeside more recently with his sister and was once going out with Joey.
ANDIE
She is Jack’s sister and has had mental problems, she is very good student and once went out with Pacey.

Now the characters are explained it would be pointless to go through all of the adventures that they have had! So I would recommend you to watch it. It is a very emotive program and there is always something of interest going on although they can go over the top.
