Advantages: Great storyline and characters

Disadvantages: They keep killing characters then resurrecting them

Day of our lives is an American daytime soap set in Salen America. It follows the lives and loves of doctors who work at the local clinic. It began in 1965. The opening titles consist of an hourglass with Dr. Horton saying: "Like sands through the hourglass; so are days of our lives".

In the 1970's Dr. Marlena Evans was introduced and has remained in the show to the present day. Viewers have followed her on-off relationship with John Black. She also has a relationship with Roman Brady and had children Sami and Eric.
Her and John also had an affair and had a daughter, Belle Black, together.

One of the most evil charcters is Stefano Dimera. - He is a powerful man and manipulates people and uses violence if he doesn't get his way.

Days of our lives has covered many storyline from realistic ones like; Sami's bulimia, cancer and car accidents - to more far-fetched ones like Sami's execution and Marlena's possession.

Up until the mid - 90s real life stories were used more than the far-fetched ones. Then the trend in American soaps changed and Days of our lives followed that treand.

However whatever the trend; Days of our lives always makes great viewing.

Summary: A soap well worth watching
