Advantages: Great fun game show, Noel Edmonds.

Disadvantages: Can be repetitive and bit boring if watch everyday.

Deal or No Deal is a game show, which is a simple format, unlike other popular quiz shows where you need to answer questions; this is totally down to the luck of picking the boxes.

It is on Channel 4 at 4:15pm every weekday and is extremely popular, the presenter and face of Deal or No Deal is the legend Noel Edmonds!

There are 22 identical red boxes split between the different sides of the game area, the East and West Wing. Inside each box is an amount ranging from 1p up to the jackpot of £250,000. The 11 highest amounts are a red colour and the 11 least amounts are blue in colour. Each episode a new contestant is picked at random by the computer, each player had already picked a box number, 1-22 containing an amount.

We are now ready to start the game, the chosen player has the task to reveal amounts as they go through the game in a bid to win a huge amount at the end.

After the player has picked three boxes, the game is stopped and evaluated, the contestant receives a phone call from the banker who is a mysterious character which no one knows the identity of. The banker makes an offer for the player's box based on what amounts are left. Noel asks the contestant Deal or No Deal? The contestant responds and we continue even if they have accepted the banker's offer.

The game uses some jargon which all fans will know, as mentioned earlier the East and West wings of the players, the power five the five largest amounts which everyone wants to keep in as long as possible. There is also the infamous 1p club where contestants who receive the lowest amount of 1p go into this unfortunate group of people.

There are also special editions of the shows, which have added bonuses like holiday packages; they have featured editions for Christmas, Halloween and anniversary of the show.

Deal or No Deal is a global success story with shows throughout the world and lots of merchandise including board games, DVD interactive games and online games.

My opinion
Deal!
I really like the game show and it is definitely my favourite game show. It doesn't appeal to everyone, but I enjoy it, it is very easy to watch and exciting at times. I like Noel Edmonds he is very charismatic and motivates the audience and players.

Summary: If you haven't seen it, where have you been?

Can't bear Noel Edmunds, I hate how he manipulates the contestants and makes out that it is their skill or 'bravery' that is being tested rather than just CHANCE!

(Rant over - nice review!)
