Advantages: Edge of the seat game show
Disadvantages: sometimes noel can get on your nerves
Deal or no deal is a game show that I used to watch all the time when I first heard about it but now I just tend to watch it if I flick over when nothing else in on.
The game show contains 1 contestant, a banker and the host; in this case the host is noel Edmonds. The contestant is picked at the beginning of the game against other players eager to be on the block. Once the contestant is picked they must sit with noel Edmonds and each of the others must stand in 2 half circles. Each player has a box with a different amount of money inside, although the players do not know which amount they have in their box.
The contestant then starts to choose different boxes in the hope of revealing small numbers. After 3 boxes the banker will ring and offer the contestant a cash price, the amount depending on how well they have done in the first round. The contestant will then chose to:
Deal: accept the amount offered by the banker
No deal: chose to play on.
The aim of the game is to knock as many lower numbers out as possible meaning there is more chance of winning a high amount or being offered higher from the banker. The banker will offer less depending on how many high numbers is left.
The contestant will keep playing the game and opening boxes until they either decided to accept the bankers offer or if they are brave enough to play till the end and open there own box. The least you can win in the game is 1 penny to anything up to 250,000. If the player chooses to end the game by accepting the bankers offer then the game will continue on just to see what the contestant would have got if they had of played on.
This game gets the audience glued as it is an on the edge of your seat show. You want the contestant to do well and eagerly wait as each box is opened. I think so far there has only been a select few contestants who have actually went all the way declining the banker's offers and have gotten to the end to discover they have the 250,000 in their box meaning they become a big winner. Although I like to see people go on and try and win the big money I think I would probably deal if I was offered a good amount as the game can take a change so suddenly.
This is definitely a game show to consider.
Summary: Worth a watch
