Desperate Housewives

This is my favourite show for those who have never watched it I'll get you caught up without giving away anything about the twists. This is an American comedy based in Wisteria Lane it follows the lives of five best friends who all live in the same neighbourhood. All five of the friends are all different and face dilemmas throughout for example affairs, money problems, crime, divorce, health problems, alcoholism and many more. As the series go on you learn more about each of the characters and you see into their past and it reveals why they are the person they are. Each series is narrated by a dead neighbour I'll not tell you how she dies because it is part of the plot in series one.

Characters

Gabrielle Solis- played by Eva Longaria Parker. Gabby what her friends calls her is feisty she used to be a model and at the start found it hard to live in Wisteria Lane because she was used to living the celebrity lifestyle. She is married to Carlos and her reasoning for moving to Wisteria Lane was because of his job but with his work he is away a lot and leaves Gaby feeling venerable so she makes friends with the girls on Wisteria Lane. Throughout the series Gabby and Carlos marriage goes through a lot but you always know that they love each other.

Lynette Scavo- played by Felicity Huffman. Lynette is a mother of four with three boys and a girl she is a great mum but sometimes finds it hard to cope as her husband although she loves him doesn't have a clue when it comes to helping her discipline them but you can see he is always there for her when she needs him the most. Lynette was a business woman before she has the children and these traits come out in her personality in the group she would love to go back to work but her family always comes first.

Bree Van de Kamp- played by Marcia Cross. Bree is a proper housewife who cooks and cleans and has everything perfect. On the outside she has the perfect marriage, house and children but inside closed doors everything isn't as rosy as everyone thinks she has got troubles that she likes to keep bottled inside but her friends are always there for her even if she doesn't tell them everything. She likes to keep her family problems inside the family and likes to think that she has a strong personality.

Susan Mayer- played by Teri Hatcher. Susan has gone through a divorce and has the worst luck with men. She brings up her daughter on her own and as the series goes on she has a son which she has to start learning how to bring up a child again because there is such a huge age gap between her daughter and son. Although she has been unlucky in love she still dreams about falling in love and a happy ending.

Edie Britt- played by Nicolette Sheridan. Edie is a business women who is the outsider of the group she would stab any of them in the back by going with their boyfriends and even husbands. Although she would stab them in the back she still wants to be friends with her neighbours and would make them feel sorry for her which often works.

Overall

I would recommend this show to anyone who likes a show with twists and good storylines if you want to catch up with the first four series then you can buy the box sets of Amazon from around £15- £25 depending on which series you want to buy. Series 6 is being aired on channel 4 every Wednesday at 10pm if you are like him you'll be hooked.
