Dexter is a television show based on the novel called Darkly dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsey. In the show Dexter Morgan (Played by Michael C Hall) is a blood spatter analysis for the Miami Police department, but he also hides a dark secret, he is also a serial killer. In season one, the series focuses on mostly on the Ice truck killer, who killed victims and chopped them up and drained their blood. The Ice truck killer also sent messages and taunts to Dexter through the crime scenes. At the end of the season it is revealed that the ice truck killer is Dexter's older brother (Whom he nicked named Biney because he couldn't say Brian when he was younger) and Brian had changed his named to Rudy and was dating Dexter's adoptive Sister Debra, who he tries to kill. Dexter Kills Rudy making it look like suicide. During the series there is also tension between Dexter and Sergeant Doakes as Doakes senses there's something not quite right with Dexter this comes to a head at the end of season two. Season two can be seen on ITV1 and ITV4 and the new third season will be on FX from the 24th April. Dexter has been commissioned for a further two seasons. I actually missed a lot of the first run of season one on FX so I didn't watch as I though it was too far in and I wouldn't be able to get to know the characters and I had missed key parts of the storyline but my friend told me it was so good and I should try and watch it. Luckily ITV1 ran season 1 from the beginning and from since that day I have been absolutely HOOKED on Dexter, the brilliant plotlines and all the twists and turns of the story definitely makes extremely great viewing. I suggest if you haven't seen it yet you buy the series DVD's and catch up before the start of season three.
