Diagnosis MurderNewest Review: ... is the Chief of internal medicine at Community General and he is also a Police Consultant which is handy as his son Steve Sloan (Dick Van Dykes real life son Barry ) is a police detective. In most episodes a murder or unexplained death occurs and Mark and Steve work to solve the case, they are quite often helped or in some cases hindered by the two other main characters of Dr Amanda Bentley who is the resident pathologist and Dr Jessie Travis a junior doctor together they all try to solve the puzzle and bring the murderer to justice and although Steve is the Detective it is usually Mark who solves the murder!. Dr Jessie Travis was a chara... more |

This is my guilty afternoon pleasure when I take my foot of the pedal and have a coffee with Dick Van Dyke!. I have loved Dick Van Dyke ever since watching "Marry Bobbins" ( Yes that was my inept attempt at Dicks much mocked cockney accent). Obviously I meant Mary Poppins. ==== A Little History ==== Diagnosis murder is an American TV show that ran from 1993 until 2001. It was actually made after the star Dick Van Dyke appeared in a guest role in another top American series Jake and The Fatman in this particular episode Dick stared as Dr Mark Sloan who was wrongly accused of murder and set out clear is name along with the ... When it comes to detective crime shows on TV theirs a lot of them, from old to new from the terrible to the great and among the very great you get shows like Quincy and of course Diagnosis Murder. Although new episodes stopped quite a while back, constant re-runs on Hallmark and BBC1 has kept this show one that I watch on a regular basis despite having seen most the episodes they seem to still catch me until the end anyway making a re-watch worth it. Set at Community general hospital it was a spin off from another TV show that lead to 3 movies before the series I know and love started in the form I know it. The show revolves around a murder (hence the second ... Read the complete review

This show is quality daytime TV, i've watched or Sky+ this show for as long as i can remember. I first came across this show about aged 13 when i was off sick from school and since that first episode i've been hooked! I'm not quite sure what it is about this show that makes me so hooked, of course the lead character Dr. Mark Sloan is obviously a very good character if not sometimes annoying but he is a staple to this show, but i still don't think he is the reason i like this show because he sometimes gets on my nerves. I think it's probably some really nice exciting storylines written which i like and there's alot of in-depth storylines within in more so when ... Read the complete review

The show revolves around Dick Van Dykes character, Dr Mark Sloan, who is chief of medicine at Community General Hospital, but is also a consultant to the police department. The way the show works is that either there is a case that is related to the hospital work of Sloan or a case at the police department. Within these two settings there are a number of charcters that help Sloan soves cases, such as Sloan's son Steve, who is played by the real life son of Dick Van Dyke, Barry Van Dyke; who play a detective in the homicide division. ... Diagnosis murder is a detective programme set around Community general hospital. The main character is Doctor Mark Sloan played by Dick Van Dyke, he is a chief medical examiner and who works part time as a police consultant. He lives in a beach house and loves to roller skate and in a few episodes he sings and dances (very cheesy). Dr Sloan always manages to solve the case and often with a sickly sweet outcome. Then theres his son Steve Sloan who works as a detective and is played by Dick Van Dyke's real son Barry Van Dyke. He is very old fashioned and he ofter end up getting himself some romance with a family member of the victim. He often turns ... Read the complete review
