cough... my name is Samantha and I have a diagnosis murder addiction..cough (clap clap clap) Years at university had prepared me for the BBC's afternoon programming, but I couldn't cope with being 'Quincied' any longer. Lovejoy was looking a little long in the tooth for the leather jackets and the winking at ladies and frankly Bergerac has always been crap - seeing it years later made it no better. So regretfully I switched off the television. Imagine my joy when my friend Ian rang to tell me a new series was on - with Dick Van Dyke no less. Cor Blimey Gov'nor I said, Strike a light and... Shut up now said Ian. Well I thought I might as well give it a whirl and now years later I stand, well sit actually, here in front of you and have to admit I have an addiction to DM. If I'm out I record it, my friend Emily and I discuss what the story line will be (yes, I'm afraid you can catch DM addiction), will Steve stick his tongue down another women’s throat thus leading to her untimely demise? Will Dr Sloan ever do any work that has to do with actually running the medical department? How does amanda perform autopsies without ever getting any blood on her gown? How many children has Barry Van Dyke actually got and why do they all appear as different characters every week? How does Steve manage to be a police detective and run a restaurant? The questions are endless and whilst you contemplate these life changing issues you can try and guess how doctor sloan will solve the crime (because much like columbo you usually know who has done it and the fun is how they figure it out) I'm afraid my 'problem' has lead to conflict between myself and my boyfriend. My friend Emily is having erotic dreams about Dick Van Dyke and I am heartbroken that the series has been cancelled after it's eighth season, so there is not much more to run on the BBC.
r> So be warned, you might start off watching while eating your dinner one day, not realising how dangerous these things can be. Don't say I didn't warn you.....

- 22/10/01 Why is it daytime Tv, despite being dreadfully awful can still be so addictive. Thankfully I've avoided this one, I'm still stuck with the re-runs of saved by the bell on sky :-/ Steve |
