Advantages: Gripping, Humorous

Disadvantages: None.

One of my earliest childhood memories was watching Dick van Dyke in movies such as Mary Poppins. He was a
superb actor then, and he has clearly lost none of his innate ability. In ‘Diagnosis Murder’ he plays the role of
Doctor Mark Sloane, and he doubles as a police consultant, helping to catch & frame a variety of murderers. He is
the undoubted star of the programme, which appears on BBC1 in the early afternoon. Whilst there is always an
element of intrigue, as to how he manages to solve how the murders have been committed, there is also a strong
element of humour, and you can still see the mischievous twinkle in Dick’s eyes.
Of all the murder mystery dramas, this has got to be the best....what I’m waiting for now, is for Julie Andrews to
make a guest appearance......but would she be the murderer, or the victim?
