Advantages: Theres nothing else on at this time of day!
Disadvantages: It's hardly gripping
This is a typical day time television programme hosted by David Dickenson. David Dickenson used to use Bargain Hunt on the BBC and also starred in a few other bits and pieces but as his popularity dropped he was given this ITV show.
The layout of the show is people bring their often cherished belongings along and an 'expert' will look at them, tell them a bit about them and usually make an offer to buy them with their own money supposedly. Some deals on some occasions won't make any sort of offer and just wish the seller luck in the sale room.
If the dealer is interested the seller and they usually barter for a fair price. On screen there is sometimes an independent value for the items and if thee bartering is not getting anywhere David steps in and tells the seller what the auctioneer says about their item and gives advice what to do.
If the seller still isn't happy with the dealer's offer they can take their item to the sale room and take a chance they will make more money. However once an item sells in the sale room approximately 20% is taken off in commission so it can sometimes be close as to if they did the right thing. David always has a chat with them about if they are happy etc.
The programme is usually on at 2.30pm on weekdays, it lasts for 45 minutes including the advert breaks.
My favourite part of the programme is at the end when David says what happened to the items that the dealers bought and if they made a profit or a loss.
Overall this is a typical day time show, don't start watching it and expect to be gripped to it but as these antique type shows go this one isn't bad. The banter between them can be quite entertaining.
Summary: There's good banter but it could be better
