Advantages: David Dickinson literally glows.

Disadvantages: May cause radiation poisoning.

Dickinson's real deal is ITV's latest daytime antiques programme. If you've gotten tired of Car Booty, Bargain Hunt...ect. then I suppose this programme is for you.

Basically, its a touring road show travelling around Britain, though unlike Flog It!, it tells you nothing about the local history, and indeed, you wouldn't really know where they were if you weren't listening carefully. People bring their antiques to the "experts" who are actually dealers who'll give them money right then and there for their antiques, but only if the price is right. Many a time there's a heated debate where the sellers resort to using flattery or just plain stubbornness to get the price they think they deserve. Alternatively, if the price is still not what they want, they can sell the item at auction, with commission taken off, of course.

I'll be honest with you, I watch this show for David Dickinson. He excites and terrifies me at the same time, and I'm on tenterhooks waiting for him to drop out a "bobby dazzler" or an equally thrilling catchphrase.

The program is on at weekdays at 2pm. It involves a competition of winning around £1000-£2000, which is free to sign up online, which we often do! Someone's got to win, after all. The dealers are always the same ones everyday, and are quite the characters, often getting frustrated at Dickinson when he butts in. It's interesting to see what things are worth, and the extent of people's greed, and seeing them fail in the auction room. Scheudenfreude? Who? Me?

Summary: If you like daytime TV and antiques, why not? A quirky enjoyable programme.

Me too. There is one dealer who looks like a homeless man - is it Mike Darling? He's my favourite, he has the best one-liners.

I enjoy this programme. I like the wheeling and dealing.
