Advantages: Great dancing, great music, great show

Disadvantages: have to sky+ it cos im working!!

I started watching this programme because I am obsessed with all things to do with dancing!

This series started on the 10th September.
The show is presented by Kelly Brook (think that's to get the male audience interested!)and at least your boyfriend will sit through this one with you! I like seeing whats she's wearing each week as she's dressing in vintage clothing from the time and does look amazing!
She is also a judge on the show along with choreographer to the stars Sean Cheesman and an original star of the film Miranda Garrison, she played the bungalow bunny Vivian and was also involved in the original choreography of Dirty Dancing. The judges are looking for great dancers obviously, but they need to have that famous Johnny/Baby sizzling chemistry too!

The whole series is set at the real life location of Mountain Lake holiday resort aka Kellermanns; the famous setting of the hit film.


At the start of the series 16 top dancers who have all been through the audition process, are picked to compete for the prize of a year long professional dance contract with BLOC. The dancers have come from all over the world including here in the UK, Australia and America. There are 8 boys and 8 girls and in the first show they worked against each other boys vs. girls.
In the 2 shows since then the dancers have paired up (the pairings are chosen by the dancers, the ones who did best in the tasks having the first choice)

They then have to complete a task as well as choreographing a dance in 2 days to a piece of music they've been given and including certain moves they've been taught, the dancers really are so talented and I love to watch them. The music is always great too, some from the original soundtrack to Dirty Dancing and others more modern pieces to give it a twist.

At the end of each show and dance off, the judges deliberate over the performances they have just seen and send home a couple.
Last week, 1 guy was injured so his partner had to dance alone and she was crap so they went home; really disappointed as he was the best dancer in my opinion!
Each show has a link to the original dancing in the film, last week for example they had to dance on the very log on which Johnny taught Baby to balance in that famous scene!


So now my favourite guy has gone, my bet is on Tobias and Donna, I think they're both amazing dancers so I hope they get paired up but if not definitely Tobias to win!

Dirty Dancing: The time of your life is on Living TV at 9pm Wednesdays, If you've not yet watched this you've only missed 3 shows and there's no catching up to do so tune in! I've been sky plussing it as I'm getting ready for work at that time!
