This review is a general review on the new TV series.

I have grown up with the Doctor who TV series and was as thrilled as anyone to see it return to our screens a few years ago.

I was a little worried that it may not live up to my memories but after only a few episodes I could see that I wasn't going to be disappointed. The casting of Christopher Eccleston was great, I'm afraid I'm not a great Billie Piper fan I find her acting a bit wooden and I don't think she can speak very clearly - but I think I'm probably in the minority here.

I don't think there is anyone who doesn't know about Doctor Who, the renegade time traveller. I really liked the way they changed the format of the show from four or six mini episodes to generally having the single story in one episode. There are some stories that have been played out over a number of episodes but these have tended to be series finales or have been sub stories of a bigger plot.

A only one series was completed by Christopher ( I'm sure I read an interview a few years back where he said he didn't want to get involved in series after appearing in "Our friends in the North" and preferred one off drama's so it didn't surprise me), before the keys to the TARDIS were handed over to David Tennant. He has been quite a quirky Doctor and very likeable, he manages to instill the right amount of comedy in his acting for this role.

The series to date have once again seen the Doctor pitted against evil aliens like the Daleks and the Cybermen but there have been some cute aliens such as the Adipos.

My favourite episode since coming back to our screens has to be "Don't Blink". This episode was wonderfully well structured and was really quite scary - don't want to spoil it too much but I'll never look at a church in the same light again.

Well my reservations concerning its return were unfounded and I just hope that the latest Doctor will be as good as his two modern predecessors.
