DoctorsNewest Review: ... storylines are increasingly ridiculous. The programme is set in a doctor's surgery in the Midlands, though I think maybe one of the cast may actually be from the area. You would expect it maybe to be a bit like a daytime version of Holby or Casualty with medical drama and personal stories combined, but this programme is not even near the standard of these two (and they aren't brilliant!). The acting has also gone downhill (and it did not have far to go). There used to be the odd cameo from decent actors, or recognisable faces. There still is the odd person you recognise but they look rightly embarrassed to be there! I know this programm... more |

I used to wathc this programme - so I know its always been bad, trashy T.V. that you didn't expect to engage your brain watching. However I watched it again recently and found it laughable! I've started watching this since my mother started recording it on Sky Plus for when she gets home in the evening. "Doctors" is a daytime drama about the goings-on at a G.P. surgery called The Mill Health Centre in a fictional town called Letherbridge. Julia, who has been in it almost since the very beginning, is the practice manager. Jimmy, who has also been in it a very long time, is the senior partner. Then we have a range of doctors who seem to have entered the soap opera over the past couple of years, including the camp, but straight, old boy Heston and a few others whose names I forget. We also have two lovely ... Read the complete review

This is the BBC's daytime soap. It is ideal if you want something to watch whilst you are finishing your lunch or doing the ironing. It is very cleaverly written in that each episode is a complete story in its own right but there are longer more complex stories which carry on for months at a time. The programme revolves around the Doctors surgery and the univerity surgery in the fictional town of Letherbridge. I think it must be an extreamley large town because we never seem to see the same person twice!! The stories may revolve around the patient, the doctor or the admin staff associated with the doctors or Nurses. There are also some spin off ... Read the complete review

The 30 minute episodes focus on a main individual storyline featuring different people each episode with their own story which intertwines with one ore more of the surgery staff, and there is usually one or more stories going on in the doctors/nurses life. The stories which feature the doctors/nurses/receptionists are often featured over several episodes and will often involve different people at different ... Read the complete review

Doctors was first broadcast by the BBC in 2000. It is a daytime drama/soap about a doctor's surgery. It was originally set in Riverside surgery.
