WHAT IS IT ABOUT:
Duane 'Dog' Chapman is a bounty hunter in Hawaii. For us in the UK, the whole bounty thing is a bit of a mystery, but the simple way to explain it is to say that Dog and his co-workers have to hunt down criminals for a cash reward. The show is a reality TV programme that follows larger than life Dog and his crew on the job chasing fugitives.

IS IT ANY GOOD:
This is one of those rare shows that is unlike pretty much anything out there. When the TV execs met Dog they must have not been able to believe their luck - this eccentric, odd-ball character is the star of the show. He's big, muscular and tough, but kind and Christian too. He's lovable, but you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him. I have to say that I am intrigued by him to the point where I bought his autobiography and learnt all about him. He's a very interesting guy, as is his son Leyland and his (literally) larger than life wife, Beth. The show works because of the family and employees who seem like they were created at a pantomime, but are in fact the real deal.

To be fair, the show can be a bit repetitive, as it basically follows the same format: get the info on the felon, chase them, handcuff them, have a soft heart to heart with them then lock them away. However, the ongoing storylines in Dog's personal life (such as getting married or falling out with his wife), keep it real and interesting.

IF YOU LIKED IT:
You should read Dog's autobiography 'You Can Run But You Can't Hide'.

IN CONCLUSION:
A one in a million programme that showcases a larger than life family and their dangerous profession.

Summary: watch it!

I absolutely love this. I even managed to convert my friends to it and it makes for hysterical Saturday night viewing after a few drinks.

I'd give it 5 stars too, it's great entertainment. His wife makes me laugh with all that skin tight clothing when she's so overweight!
