Advantages: Action, Reality, Drugs, Guns - this show has it all.

Disadvantages: Some Characters are a little hard to deal with and Dog is rather arrogant in general.

"Dog the Bounty Hunter" is a reality television show that documents the antics of Duane Chapman and his family, a real life legal modern day bounty hunter. Duane runs his own Bail Bonds company and is paid reward money for every fugitive he manages to take into custody on behalf of the state, and that is his business. The people you see are totally real, although you are warned at the beginning that everyone remains innocent until proven guilty by a court of law, along with a message that you must not try any of what you see on the show at home.

Dog (Duane Chapman) has turned his life around, after being a criminal and spending time in jail for his involvement in the murder of a Texas man. He has become a religious man, and says a quick prayer to God before going out on each chase, asking for strength and protection. The team consists of Dog, Dog's wife Beth, dog's brother Tim and his son's Duane Lee and Leland. They are armed in the later episodes with non lethal pepper ball guns and paint sprays.

Bounty hunting is legal in certain US states, for example in Colarado and in Hawaii. Those licensed to catch fugitives are paid a financial reward for each one they manage to capture and in some States it is big business, with Colarado having it's own "Bail Bonds Row". Dog is famous for his massive blonde hair, his Oakley sunglasses with hte inbuilt MP3 players and his black protective gear/body armour.

I do enjoy the show and find it quite interesting an entertaining, but there are a few things about it that I really don't like. Firstly, I really don't like Beth Dog's wife. She is the biggest bitch I think I have ever seen on television, she is never wrong and really gets into the heads of the people she deals with in an incredibly manipulative fashion. Not a very nice person in my opinion, with a very patronising and fake tone to her voice.

The other thing I don't like is how special they seem to think they are, they have this power which makes them totally undefeatable and unbeatable. In one episodes, some guys become a little bit fed up when Dog storms their property without asking, making loads of noise and not showing much respect to the owner. Dog's wife taunts a couple of the females nearby, calling one them "Drug addict!" (totally unfair, she doesn't know if she's on drugs?). Anyway a fight breaks out, and Leland is in the middle of said fight but is eventually released. Even after he is released, Dog shouts "Punch Leland, Punch". In my opinion that is assault? It was perfectly understandable why the guy got upset.

I'd say this show is entertaining, but I don't especially like the people involved. I mean I like Tim, Leland and Duane Lee but I don't like Dog, Beth or even his daughtet "Baby Lyssa" who sometimes gets involved with the show.

Summary: I do like this show, it's unique and original and certainly worth a look.
