Even as far as pretending to be Swiper the fox at home and taking stuff, hiding it, and then telling us 'You can't find it now!', just like Swiper. My only concern with this program is that many of the answers that ... more

Dora the Explorer centres around Dora, a Spanish girl, her monkey, a talking backpack and a talking map with various other regular characters...such as Swiper the fox. It airs mostly on Nick Jr, though it can also be found on demand in the kids section of BT Vision. My 2 year old loves this show...he's watched each of the 10 episodes on BT Vision (I don't have NickJr anymore) countless time and never tires of it. The show encourages interaction asking the viewer to shout out the answers to various questions and challenges. My son loves it! Dora the Explorer was one of the first programmes that my daughter became interested in. Im guessing that it was the bright colours, the fun songs and Boots the Monkey that first caught her attention, but two years on it is still a firm favourite. Although it is a fun cartoon, I also find it to be highly educational. My daughter has learnt about numbers, shapes, colours and songs through this programme which has helped to back up the skills that I have been trying to teach her. In addition it also teaches children how to observe things and interact. My daughter often ends up shouting answers at the tv and really enjoys participating. The main ...  Read the complete review

Dora the Explorer is a great show that airs on Nick. It is a wonderful show for young children who want to learn. My little girl is 3 and she has been watching this show since she was born. It has taught her some language in Spanish and has taught her to speak a lot of words a lot better. She can speak very clearly now and knows how to point out many different things. This show also keeps them learning. It teaches them objects and foods and is so fun to interact with your children and help them with the games that they play on there. It is so amazing at how much it does teach them and how much fun the show is. I know my little girl has gotten to where she loves it so ...  Read the complete review

Dora The Explorer is a TV show that airs mainly on Nick Jr, the Nickelodeon channel for younger viewers. This is channel 615 on Sky. Dora is a Spanish girl who lives with her family and goes on adventures with her best friend, Boots the Monkey! Each episode is roughly 20 minutes long and has entertainment and education for the kids. Each episode, Dora and Boots have a series of puzzles to get through to help someone or save something, or get something back from a tame villain of some sorts. They interact with the viewer at home, and ask for their help in choosing the right path, or help in finding something hidden on the screen, for example. Dora is more of a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Dora the Explorer: Explore language, problems and fun with Dora (582 words)

Dora is a cartoon Spanish girl who lives with her family and has a best friend who accompanies her, seemingly at all times, Boots the monkey. The premise of the programme is that Dora has some form of adventure hence being an explorer, but the adventures are relatively low key and suitable for pre school children. Invariably there is something to be found, a key, a tree, a flute or some such items as the story is tailored around. Dora and Boots will then begin a journey with a narrative, they will somehow know where to find the item, their animated pal The Map will then musically and repetitively present the information of other places they ...  Read the complete review
