Advantages: Kept the tardis

Disadvantages: Annoying Scripts, assistants, aliens, CGI....etc

The new doctor who is going very strong and has a huge fanbase but for fans of the old episodes (at least me) it is nowhere near as good. The creatures and aliens often rely on CGI which doesn't look as realistic as a fanc dress costume, and when they do have costumes they have relied on old monsters such a the cybermen and daleks. These are then changed slightly from the originals and end up worse. Both Christopher Eccletson and David Tennant made good doctors but Catherine Tate as an asistant?!? Some of The sets are admitedly better than the old ones, but so many episodes are set on Earth when they could be making the most of their high budget to produce some amazing space sets. However, rant over, the show is good for many old fans as the very basic idea still stands. They still have the Tardis, they still battle Aliens and he still carries the sonik screwdriver. The scripts are poor and there are many failed attempts at jokes. One of the good things is the soundtrack that, although modernised, still sounds good and creates different moods when needed. The episodes show a story in one go instead of doing a longer multiple hour story in parts, this means there has to be a lot more, a lot quicker and leaves behind some of he better bits of the old series. To conclude, as a new show this is good, but they should stick to thinking of new monsters and leave the old themes undisturbed. I would reccomend it to anyone that is a new fan but i wouldn't watch it if you prefer the old.
