Advantages: Deborah Meardon

Disadvantages: none

One of my favourite shows on tv. The show is a succes mainly because all the dragons bring such excitement to it and have their own unique personality.

How it works:

Wannabe inventors arrive on the set with their ideas and inventions and do a short pitch to try and get the dragons to invest in their products. If the pitch oges well the dragons will offer them some money in exchange for a percentage share in the inventor's company/business.

The dragons:

Peter Jones carries the most weight, a menacing six foot four, he is well spoken and handsome and often invests alone and goes against the trends of the other dragons. Peter has vested interests in communications outside of the den.

Deborah Meardon: Blonde, sharp tongued and prone to getting angered very quickly. Her background is in hotels and leisure. She often wears grey and is the bluntest of all the dragons.

Theo Paphitis: Greek Theo is a softie at heart, his background is in Ryman and La Senza and he often goes halves with Meardon in ventures.

Duncan Bannatyne: Gloomy Scot Bannatyne usually drives a hard bargain and is more often saying 'im out' then 'im in'. He has a background in lesiure and casinos and often looks bored or bemused by the inventors

James Caan: The newest dragon. James is timid compared to the other four and well spoken and often invests on his own. He does not seem to carry as much weight in the room as the others.

Critique: A fun programme, you get to see a host of new business ideas and see how the public cope when faced with the scrutiny of the dragons. Some the products go on to make it in real life. The show runs for an hour and is often insightful and educational. Well worth watching
