Advantages: fun to watch some pitches

Disadvantages: repetitive, some less likeable Dragons

The premise of budding business entrepreneurs pitching their ideas in return for investment in front of 5 business investors sounds so simple and boring on the face of it. But Dragons Den some how moves beyond this and actually makes it fun to watch (especially when someone comes on with a silly idea or is so nervous they cannot give a rational pitch andare hounded by the savy Dragons).

The Dragon investors have varying personalities and some are more likeable than others - some can come across as stubborn and rude but then again it is their investment on the line. Some Dragons give some good advice to the entrepreneurs and seem genuinely interested. On the whole they always tend to get businesses for quite cheap but the exposure and publicity they get from the show may make it worthwhile for the entrepreneurs.

The format is getting somewhat repetitive now but there is little direction for the show to go in - it stands completely on the banter between the Dragon investors and the characters coming to ask for their money.

Summary: good watch

It's very important they have a certain entertainment value to the show and I think some people become the 'victims of compromise'.

A programme I watch on occasion - agree that some "Dragons" are less aimiable than others. Like to see new ideas put forward even if some are ridiculous!
