A great programme for goldfish (Dragon's Den)

A friend introduced me to Dragons' Den 4 years ago and after watching the first episode, I was hooked!

For anyone who hasn't seen it, the show revolves around a person pitching an idea to 5 millionaires (the "dragons") who will evaluate the proposal and decide whether to invest their own money or not.

More often than not, the contestant doesn't get invested in as the dragons will point out flaws in their business plan or their product. The way they do this can sometimes be offensive, sometimes aggressive or in the case of Theo Paphitis, they're usually pretty funny: "I would rather stick pins in my eyes than invest in this!"

However, some ideas that make it to the den are genuinely good ones. Some that immediately spring to mind are the iTeddy and Reggae Reggae Sauce which have both gone on to make the inventors (and the dragons) a fair amount of money.

Although primarily about business, the variety of ideas and the dragons' personalities make it a programme that appeals to a wide audience. It can also descent somewhat into "car crash TV" when a contestant forgets their pitch or argues black is blue with the dragons.

One thing that I don't like about Dragons' Den is Evan Davies who presents the show. He constantly repeats himself and gets on my nerves. Somebody will make their pitch asking for £100,000 for a 20% stake in the company... Evan Davies will then voice-over "so-and-so has asked for £100,000 for 20% of his company"... I KNOW! I JUST WATCHED IT!!! I don't need Evan Davies to tell me something that only happened 5 seconds ago! I'm not a goldfish - I haven't forgotten already!!

Sorry about that, but it's something that really gets on my nerves! :)

Summary: Get rid of Evan Davies and it'll be fantastic
