The rest of the Duke clan were Daisy Duke who wore short denim sorts and had very long legs and Uncle Jessie who was mostly beard. The boy drove around in a muscle car called the General Lee and a lot of the action involved car chases and slow motion jumps that you know would have actually wrecked the car but in this show it just kept on going. This was a funny show and most of the humour came from the local Sher... more

Before the fim came the TV series which featured the Duke family who were residents of Hazard County in the deep South of America. As the song went they were a couple of good old boys who always managed to get into scrapes with the local law enforcement officers, this was mainly because they were in the pocket of the local Mr Big a fat bloke dressed all in white called Boss Hogg who was always hatching schemes which the Duke boys would try to stop happening. The 1975 film Moonrunners is probably not a familiar one with most people. What is good about thsi film is that it provided the inspiration for the immensely popular TV series The Dukes of Hazzard, which ran from 1979 to 1985 and told tales of the brothers Bo and Luke Duke and their adventures in Hazzard County in Georgia, US. THey drove round in their Dodge Charger named the General Lee, and escaped the wily plotting and planning of corrupt local businessman Boss Hogg. The Dukes also had their cousin Daisy along for most ...  Read the complete review

The Dukes of Hazzard rates alongside the likes of the A-team, Airwolf and Knight Rider as classic 80's TV. Meet the Dukes : Uncle Jesse, Daisy, Bo and Luke and of course the car - General Lee. Everyone who remembers the dukes of hazzard remebers it for one thing first and foremost - the car (called General Lee). Bo and Luke raced round in General Lee always being chased by Sherrif Rosco for something they hadn't done - usually something that had been done by Rosco's boss - Boss Hogg. The Duke boys, aided by their friends and family, always seemed to manage to escape from every tricky situation by the skin of their teeth. ...  Read the complete review

'Just some good ol boys, never meanin' no harm - they been in trouble with the law since the day they wuz born...' So began the classiest of all hicksville county roadchase shows, where each week those loveable two modern day Robin Hoods, Beaureguard "Bo" Duke [John Schneider] & Lucas K. "Luke" Duke [Tom Wopat] would pit themselves against some ner do wells, probably from Chickasaw county, and inadvertantly manage to rub Sherriff Roscoe P Coltrane [James Best] up the wrong way to boot. Cue slo-mo shots of an airbourne General Lee [1969 Dodge Charger]flying down leaf littered byways with Roscoe's cruiser once again in hot ...  Read the complete review
