I wonder why this fantastic series stopped with Season 2? With only 12 episodes produced it left me with a real sense of wanting more. Written with great insight into the human condition by Craig Cash and Phil Mealey, who also both star in the programme, it captures the real heart of people in a small tight-knit community who have the local pub in common. The title, Early Doors, refers to those drinkers who start gathering outside the pub earlier than normal. Early Doors is a great comedy series and the second series just went from strength to strength in my opinion. Set iin a back streets northern pub it gets its names from those regulars who visit the pub at the very point that it opens for evening trade, naturally this depicts a time before we had extended opening hours. Craig Cash writes and also appears in the comedy and it is very sismilar in style to his other success The Royal Family and in fact the character he plays is pretty much the same as he along wit his womaniser mate Duffy sit and talk surrounded by some other characters.
