Earth: Final Conflict

Newest Review: ... storyline of EFC appears to be very similar to the 1980s series 'V'. In both series, an alien species arrives on Earth and presents the human race with cures for diseases and other such positive things, but there is a secondary objective to their presence here. In 'V', the aliens where described as 'Visitors' - here they are 'Companions'. The first episode (all that I have seen so far), police captain William Boone (played by Kevin Kilner) is recruited by the Companions to be their chief of security, but he also gets drafted in to work for the resistance - it sounds very familiar to anyone who knows 'V... more

The Sci Fi Channel has recently started showing the show EARTH: FINAL CONFLICT from the beginning. This show was created by Gene Roddenberry, even though he died many years before it was first aired. Apparently Majel Barrett (Roddenberry's widow) found story information and a pilot script which he had written before he died, and this is what the series is based on. The basic storyline of EFC appears to be very similar to the 1980s series 'V'. In both series, an alien species arrives on Earth and presents the human race with cures for diseases and other such positive things, but there is a secondary objective to their presence here. Gene Roddenberry penend this shortly before he died, and his wife, Majel. pushed the studios to put it inot production for some time, and the result is a very good, intriguing series. The Taelons are a race of advanced energy based aliens, with extremely good technology, that has saved many people's lives (cures for diseases etc.) and they are clearly benevalent to the populace, but they have some very nasty secrets. The story has evolved a number of times, with characters being killed off left right and centre along the way. However, the storyline has kept going well, and the current hero is a pretty good character, who is himself half alien ...  Read the complete review

Earth Final Conflict is a sci-fi show that was based on an idea by the late Star Trek creator, Gene Roddenberry. However, EFC is very different from any of the Trek series as there is little mention about space travel and exploration and there isn’t a Federation Starship in sight. Instead, EFC is set on Earth where, not only has first contact been made with an alien race called the Taelons, but they actually live and work there too. At the moment, humans and Taelons work together in harmony but there is a resistance group who believe that the aliens have a different agenda which will ultimately lead to the destruction of the human race. They do not ...  Read the complete review

The taylons have come to Earth on a mission of Peace?. This series follows the fortune of a group of resistance fighters who battle against the taylons. In series one the focus was around Boone until he was killed in the 2nd series and replaced by Liam Kincade who is part alien and part human. The series special effects are outstanding and the storyline has you on the edge of your seat. I look forward to seeing the new series soon on sky one. Will the taylons win? watch and see ...  Read the complete review
