Advantages: Good characters and real life storylines

Disadvantages: Lots of misery and heartache for the characters

Eastenders is a tv soap set on the fictional Alber square. It is set in the fictional East London Suburb of Walford. It aired on BBC1 in 1985. The original character considered of the Watts (Sharon, Den and Angie); the Fowlers (Pauline, Arthur, Michelle and Mark); the Beales (Pete Kathy and Ian); other characters were Simon Wicks; Kelvin; Nick Cotton and Ali and Sue Osmon.

Eastenders is still very popular today. Ian Beale is the only character from 1985 who is still there. Other long-running characters are Dot Branning (nee Cotton) and Pat Evans (nee Harris, Wicks. Butcher). Dot and Pat joined the cast permanently in 1986.

Eastenders covers true to life stories. These stories have included; HIV; Teenage pregnancy; cancer; euthanasia and mental illness to name a few. There have been love triangles, affairs, marriages, births and deaths. Eastenders has cockney charm and humour. It is a true british soap.

Summary: Eastenders is must see tv
