Advantages: storylines

Disadvantages: in my opioion the gand land storylines

Eastenders is a British soap opera, on bbc 1 what started on the 19th Febuary 1985, it is set of the fictional albert square and near by streets, in Walford east London.
It currently is on tv on mondays, tuesdays, thursdays and fridays at 7.30pm or 8pm lasting 30 mins, though specail episodes like the recent max story line can be longer, it is also repeted on sundays and on bbc i player.
A lot goes on in eastenders, theres rarely a dull moment. Though of course it unrealistic for so much to happen on one small sqaure but the issues it tackles are true in life, for example eastenders is now covering the issue of child abuse/grooming, by the charectors Tony and Whitney. Storylines like this seem to get complaints because of it's nature, but if you like me, even though it's not pleasent to watch, people need to be aware that this goes on.
Other hard hitting storylines have been Mark Fowlers HIV, rape, domestic abuse, incest, adoption, downs syndrome, murder, kidnap and drugs, as well as gang land violence.
The main families into todays eastenders are the beales, brannings, butcher, fox, jackson, massod, miller, michell, trumen, and the slaters.
On a personal note, i love eastenders and have watched it since i was a child, its compelling viewing, the only thing i dont like is the gang land storylines, as they has been to many.

Summary: great compelling viewing
