Advantages: Great Soap
Disadvantages: Read my review about the dogs
I never watched this when it was first broadcast on t.v obviously as I was only 1 and can't really remamber when I first got hooked on this.
Most characters have changed with many families coming and going over the years but there is still some old favourites, like the Mitchell's, Pat Evans and Ian Beale.
There is so many storylines - murder, affairs, fighting, drugs, accidents which causes so much heartache to many characters and so many more sunjects. Some can be a bit far fetched and many can be things many people can relate to.
It is shown on BBC1 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and then there is an omnibus on Sunday. There is also a repeat shown on BBC3 at 10pm on weeknights so you can never miss an episode.
They always have at least on very good looking bad boy in it that no matter what he does everyone still loves him because he is so good looking. There's funny characters like Honey - that makes you laugh at the things she says. The somewhat difficult characters that you will never understand. The normal characters that seem to always have heartache or cause heartache.
Very good and very addictive plots that leave people questioning what will happen next or whodunnit that strikes up so many conversations at work or with your friends. Sometimes this can lead to a complete anti climax but sometimes it's like you've just watched the best episode ever.
If you're not an addict then you probably never will be. I think this is the best soap and I am astounded to how they can keep coming up with better storylines.
Ok the downside that makes Eastenders so unreal is the family pets - ok if you can tell me the answer to this please leave a comment. Where are the dogs all the time. For instance - where is the Beales Basset Hound and Roxy's Boxer? They are both large dogs and not dogs that could hide in a corner - you never see them being walked and being a dog lover I know that dogs get under your feet all the time. It's not like either house has a garden and neither family ever talk about the dogs. Not a good idea really.
Summary: I enjoy watching it through the week - Hate Wednesdays
