Back in 1985, one of th countroes longest running tv soaps began airing on BBC, and Eastenders has become a great british institution. For almost 25 years, I have been watching this shown, and even when I was living in America, I hardly ever missed an episode, and when I came back, it was werid as I had missed so much becuase of the delay in screening over in the states, it felt werid. Ever sunday, after lunch, we sit down and watch the the weeks episodes, giving us a chance to catch up on any that we had missed. Although it is a great show, it has some of the most far fetched storylines on british tv, and I cant believe that it is so poplar because of these. Compared to real life, there is no comparision in this show, if there were, you wouldnt have the will to live, no one seems to be happy in this show, I dont think an episode goes by without someone crying.

Even so, it does create brilliant TV, and the nation is hooked all of the time. Eastenders is one of those shows, that no matter how ridiculous it gets, it will still attract millions of viewers, and this is shown at the many awards shows every year, in which this show always makes a killing, winning the best show for the past few years.

I would definitely recommend this show to everyone, and it is much loved throughout the country. Some people consider this to be better than other show like Emmerdale and Coranation Street, but I am undecided. Everyone must have heard of Eastenders and if not, what the hell have you been doing for the past 25 years. It is now on most days at either 7:30pm or 8:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thrusdays and Fridays, which the rerun show been shown on a Sunday at vaious times. A great show.

Summary: A great show
