Easy to watch dramatic soap! (Eastenders)

Advantages: Entertaining.

Disadvantages: Grim and unrealistic.

Eastenders was created the year I was born and I have been watching it since the day it started. Obviously over the years it has changed a lot and I have changed a lot, but there is still something about it that makes me keep watching it.

Eastenders, like all soaps, can be a little unrealistic, so you have to put that behind you and then you will enjoy eastenders. Plots move so quick and families and stories change but none are too deep and you should just be able to pick up eastenders at any point an understand it. Its not like Lost, where you would have to watch it right from the beginning to have a hope in hell of knowing what is going on.

Eastenders has quite a few strong characters who carry out a lot of the most dramatic storylines. The Mitchell family feature heavily in this, they see themselves as some kind of gangster family who noone would mess with. The matriach of the family, Peggy Mitchell is the rather stereotypical eastend of london landlady at the local pub, the vic, where a lot of the meetings of people occur. her bad boy son, and alcoholic Phil owns the mechanics and bosses people about like nobodies business.

Eastenders touches on real life sensitive issues well. There is a lot of doom and gloom in Eastenders and needless to say most of them are suffering from the credit crunch! Lately Whitney (a teenager) has been abused by her stepdad who she thought she was in a relationship with cheating on her step mum, confusing, hey!

If you are willing to remove yourself from reality and take a gloomy trip through London, you will really enjoy what goes on in Albert Square.

Summary: Great easy to watch trashy TV!
