Advantages: Dawn is pretty easy on the eye

Disadvantages: Phil, the market, Ian Beale, no-one ever leaves the square, Peggy, the almost bawdy comedy

Look, I realise that this will split opinion, and if you love Eastenders, then fine, I'm not here to judge you or tear into your favourite soap, but for pete's sake it's just so miserable!

My partner watches the programme, probably more to do with just watching TV rather than actually following it, but the times I have been (forced) to watch it, it's just really dull and depressing. Nothing much happens and the script is terrible (it seems like every few years the show turns into farce and there's a bit hullabaloo about how the shows on the skids). I'm not a fan of Corrie and Emmerdale either, but at least they seem to have a bit of fun. In Eastenders, everyone lives in crappy little flats or houses, never goes out of the square and spends all day moping around complaining in gruff voices.

I'm really sorry, because so many people do like it, and you're allowed to have your opinion, and I'm sure that I'm going to get bombarded with "not very useful" ratings, but don't you want to watch something a bit more cheery?

Summary: I'd be happier at my own funeral
