Eastenders

If you have never watched Eastenders, chances are that you have heard of it. It is a long running soap (since 1985) screened on BBC 1. It is on 4 times a week (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri) and the storylines often attract media attention, meaning that even if you don't watch, you are likely to have heard about some storyline or another.

It is set in London's East end, specifically Albert Square, and features various families and the places they socialise (local pub, the Queen Vic, the launderette, the mini-mart, the market). Storylines have covered teen pregnancy, drug abuse, mental health issues, murder, sexuality and many others.

Right now though, the main story is the question of who fathered Heather Trott's baby (Heather is an unlucky in love larger lady who has a heart of gold. Heather is often seen as an easy target to make fun of, but usually has an upbeat and positive attitude and will do anything for anyone) . The viewer is left trying to guess - who's the daddy?

Heather had a long term crush on Gary, the mechanic who recently sailed into the sunset with sweetheart Dawn. She was engaged to Minty, but apparently they were not intimate. Aside from those (and they may be too much like the obvious choices), she hasn't really been linked to anyone. She has had an unlucky past where men are concerned and seemed to have resigned herself to being single.

I am a bit of a fan of Eastenders. It has some strong storylines but doesn't take itself too seriously and remains funny too. My other half complains about it being on and then ends up getting caught up in it too! And when the weather is as cold and wet as it is just now, curling up on the sofa to watch it with the fire on works for me :-)

I am intrigued as to who the daddy is, so will definitely be tuning in to Eastenders when I'm in. I personally think either Phil or maybe (just maybe) Billy. But only time will tell.....! Go on, chill out and watch Eastenders, it's fun!

Summary: Well worth a watch
