Advantages: It only lasts half an hour
Disadvantages: Half an hour too long
I just don't get this programme at all, I'm sick to death of everything about it!
When I watch TV I want to either by challenged intellectually, feel some emotional connection, enjoy the adrenalin or just laugh my head off...not be bored rigid by depressed moaners.
Eastenders is the most depressing and dull TV show to ever occur. Nothing nice ever happens, the 'big' events are when someone dies or gets sent down. The characters who do manage to get the nation to warm to them are usually killed off soon after.
Actors such as Steve McFadden and Barbara Windsor can't get work elsewhere which is why they're mainstays of the show, not because they're quality actors and an essential part of the show.
Never before in mankinds history as a small square seen so many families at such extended levels. In reality no-one would ever move into a small community where their family, their enemies, the person who has done them wrong in the past, an ex-flame etc lives?
All the characters ever do is moan about how skint they are. Yet none of them flinch at the prospect of spending all night, every night in the Queen Vic or buying ALL their meals from the chip shop. None of them seem to own a washing machine nor does anyone mind Dot Cotton 'cleaning' their clothes with a fag hanging out of her mouth!
Get this junk off the TV, I love the BBC but this is not good value for the licence fee.
Summary: Hate it
