Just for the people who have never watched this show before i will explain what it is about. Basically there is a team of challengers and a team of eggheads, each with 5 players. The eggheads team is always made up for 5 out 6 six people, more about them later. Each time the quiz is played and the eggheads win £1000 is added to the prize pot, and the team who eventually beat the eggheads win the pot.

The quiz comprises of 5 rounds. The first 4 rounds could be on any one of 9 subjects, which are politics, arts & books, food & dink, history, geography, science, music, film & television and sport. For each of these 4 rounds the challenging team chooses one of them, and one egghead, to go one on one. They are each asked 3 questions in turn (the challenger chooses who goes first) and if (after the 3 questions) they are drawn then they go into sudden death.

For the 5th round the last remaining player from each team are joined by the players who have won their rounds. This 5th round is made up of general knowledge questions, and the teams must answer 3 initially then sudden death.

If the challenging team answer more questions correctly than the eggheads then they win the whole prize pot.

The egghead are:-
Kevin Ashman (British quiz champion x3, European quiz champion x3, World quiz champion x3, fifteen to one winner x2 and fifteen to one champion of champions, brain of Britain x2, mastermind champion and mind sports Olympiad).
CJ de Mooi (beat the nation x1, 100%x1 and the weakest link x1)
Daphne Fowler (fifteen to one x1, going for gold x1 and brain of Britain)
Christopher Hughes (Mastermind x1, international mastermind x1 and Brain of Britain)
Judith Keppel (only woman to have won who wants to be a millionaire)
Barry Simmons (age you an egghead? x1, mastermind semi-finalist, brain of Britain finalist, £64k winner on who wants to be a millionaire)

Personally i find the programme a bit tedious. The questions are too difficult for the average person, although it does make you feel good to get one right! Having said that, i still find myself watching it.

If you want to watch this programme you can catch it at either 6 or 6.30 on bbc, most weeknights.

Summary: you'll watch it even if you hate it!
