Whilst I personally am just fascinated by how people live with these ailments for years without thinking they should probably go and see someone about it, it's probably useful to people sitting at home with a similar problem. It does educate and inform people about what's normal and what isn't, especially in those 'embarrassing areas'. I absolutely love this programme. I can't decide whether it's because I fancy Dr Christian a bit, because it makes me feel better about myself, or because I love to be a bit grossed out. But either way, it's compulsive viewing. I think this show actually does some good, compared to most of the drivel that you find on telly these days. Embarrassing Illnesses is another reality-style program brought to TV by channel 4, and I'm not quite sure where my opinion lies with it. On the one hand the premise of the show is positive and original, but on the other hand there are a few issues with it that limit its appeal. This is part of the 'Embarrassing' series, including Embarrassing Illnesses, Bodies and Embarrassing Teenage Bodies, opening up the content of the show to encompass a wider audience and range of issues.
