One of the best soaps on television (Emmerdale)

Emmerdale is a long running soap on ITV1 based in a small village in Yorkshire. It is at 7.00pm every day from Monday to Friday. I love Emmerdale, it really sets itself apart from other soaps, which I admire alot.

There are a number of cast members ranging from farmers to bar staff. Each character has been involved in many storylines and new members are entering the soap every now and then, the latest arrivals being a new family called the Wyldes. This element is good because new storylines can come in for them characters meaning the soap will run longer.

One of the greatest storylines in this history of this soap was the famous plane crash which destroyed some of the village and killed off some of the characters. This changed the history of the soap including the name from "Emmerdale Farm" to "Emmerdale" in 1993. In 2003 a huge storm swept through the village severely damaging it and killing of a favourite character, Tricia. Other major storylines include the Kings River explosion which killed 3 characters, the Tom King kidnapping and the Tom King murder of Christmas 2006.

One major storyline happening at this moment in time is the investigation into the murder of PC Shane Doyle, which is to set of a chain of events leading to one famous character returning to the soap which I myself am really looking forward to.

One of the famous original characters (from the very first episode) has died, because te actor who plays him died last year. I am really looking forward to the funeral as it will be very emotional.

This soap is one for the whole family and you have to watch it to see what I mean. You won't be disappointed.
