Advantages: Antoine was fantastic

Disadvantages: We miss Lola

You have to put yourself in a certain mindest. This was the mid 1990s. This was pre-Internet; pre super-speedy broadband porn-on-demand, pre-sex on tap. For a naive teenager in the mid 90s, Eurotrash was it. It was the bees knees of soft porn; the hardest stuff you could possibly lay your hands on!

Eurotrash for me, and my peers, was a rite of passage. It guided us through our informative teen years and I'm darn sure my first view of the female antatomy was on this very programme...as scary as that may seem....and no, they weren't Lola Ferraris' humungous breasts.

Presented by Antoine de Caunes and Jean-Paul Gautier, the show was presented in a light-hearted and zany manner, introducing trashy soft-porn clips, wacky pop acts and bizarre artefacts from across the world. It's pure cheeky titillation that Benny Hill would be proud of.

It never took itself seriously and managed to avoid being too crude or crass. It was a student favourite and had a cult following that enjoyed the humourous offerings from across Europe. Antoine was perfectly cast as a sleazy, but all-too loveable rogue. All in all, a delightful "mockumentary" that appealed to all but the most high-browed upper gentry.

Summary: Eurotrash was adored
