Advantages: Some funny moments

Disadvantages: Bit safe and conservative

This American sitcom stars Ray Ramone as Ray, Ramone is a stand up comic and this show uses some of his material within the storyline which is about a New York suburban family, Ray, his wife and his three children live opposite his interfering domineering mother along with his wise cracking father and rather ponderous younger brother who is a police officer.

Ray is a sports writer although you rarely see him actually working and pretty much all the scenes take place in either his or his parents homes.

Ray as a character is a bit of a clutz and constantly tries to keep his mother and wife apart as they compete for his attention, this is a fairly predictable family based comedy however it works mainly due to the strength of the cast

Cast List:

Ray Romano - Raymond Barone
Patricia Heaton - Debra Barone
Peter Boyle - Frank Barone
Brad Garrett - Robert Barone
Doris Roberts - Marie Barone

My favourite character has to be Ray father Frank, he is hilarious and most of his barbed one liners are aimed at his nagging wife, he has a childlike selfish quality to his character, in fact all the men have that character in some form or other.

This is a nice safe comedy that is a show I will watch but would not go out of my way to see. You will find it on the cable channel Comedy Central.

Summary: Comedy from the US

One of my favourite shows of all time, your review was far too short to justify a TV show that ran for 9 years !!!
