Advantages: Patrick Kielty's arguments, The Duets, Contestants write their own songs
Disadvantages: Ant and Dec don't present it, The Tabloids hate it, The series is over!
Fame Academy is a TV Show that the evil tabloids have decided to pick on. It has the equivelant number of complaints as Simon Cowell uses in a year. ( And that is a LOT. ) One main reason Fame Academy has been put down, so many times is because people believe it to have copied ITV's hit series Pop Idol. Fame Academy is completely different and in more ways is BETTER than Pop Idol! This series of FA (Which is Fame Academy in shortenedversion. I have lazy fingers) was fantastic. And it has produced one of the most unique voices of this decade. (Alex Parks) Firstly, it is a much more intelligent show than Pop Idol. It doesn't have the glitzy glamourous studio, it has a simple dark blue studio which is good. As it means that the contestants will be focused on, and viewers will not be distracted by the shiny studio. Also, the FA students write their own songs. They work hard in a "school" which improves and nurtures their voices, and they learn more about music. Another good thing, is that the contestants live in the Academy, and it has a Big Brother vibe coming from it. One of the best things, is that the show will produce a variety of styles. Unlike Pop Idol, where they are likely to produce a load of amature singers who are all pop rtists. Fame Academy produces Alternative Rock, Rock, Pop, R & B, soul and pretty much ay other music style you can think of. I doubt you would see anyone like Peter Brame (FA Contestant) on Pop Idol! I also find it a very emotional show, as the contestants will all grow to be best friends and then will have to vote off their friends as the weeks go by, thus splitting them up. I find music can be an emotional thing, and as the contestant's time in the Academy will progress, they are bound to get emotional, and likely to show their emotion through their music. Which is good. As it is not phoney music, or fake. It is deep, and from the heart. Those who watched this series know that there has
been very entertaining moments, including the maddest, wackiest contestant on the show to date (Peter Brame), Patrick Kielty's arguments with the Fame Academy headmaster Richard Park ( A kind of, Simon Cowellish sort of judge), the duets between the contestants, and of course all the antics in the Academy. I hope I have changed your mind on your view on this show. It is a show which nurtures musical talent, and produces fantadtic singers in the end result. The show has finished now, but a DVD with all the highlights will surely be available soon. There is a Fame Academy album out now, and Alex Park's debut album (An Introduction to Me) will be out soon.
