Family Affairs

Newest Review: ... and the plot revolves around the inhabitants of the aforementioned street. Family Affairs is shown at 6.30pm each evening on Channel 5 and each episdoe is repeated at 1.00pm the followinf day. Now Family Affairs has some very endearing characters and also some that people love to hate. The ultimate villan is Pete Callan, he is a murderer, wife beater and ex-drug dealer who is so cunning that he always walks free. Some of his storylines have been far from believable but they are always quite exciting to watch. Now i admit that TV is supposed to be escapism but I also think that soaps should be realistic to a certain extent so that ... more

Premium Review Family Affairs: Verging on the Ridiculous (285 words)

I have been watching this program for a few years now (almost since it started), but even I could not have envisaged how stupid the plotlines could become. I always enjoyed watching this program because it seemed to take itself a lot less seriously than the likes of Eastenders, however this has gone to far to the other extreme. For those of you who don't watch Family Affairs, it is set in Stanley Street in Charnham and the plot revolves around the inhabitants of the aforementioned street. Family Affairs is shown at 6.30pm each evening on Channel 5 and each episdoe is repeated at 1.00pm the followinf day. Now Family Affairs has some very ...  Read the complete review

I don't know why or when I started watching Family Affais but I have been watching it since the early days of the Hart Family. This soap is the only thing worth watching on Channel 5 (apart from the occasional football match). It's never been quite as good since they decided to get rid of the whole of the Hart Family by blowing them up on Roy and Mel's wedding day on a boat! (Yeah...this is how ridiculous the story lines can get). At the same time the whole of the set seemed to move location completely. The soap used to be based around the Lock and the Hart Family's House. Now everybody lives on Stanley Street and for some ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Family Affairs: Complicated Affairs.... (224 words)

Family Affairs has been running for some time now on Channel 5, and, although it has its following, I didn't find it that easy to get into when I started watching it the other week. The storylines appear to be not going anywhere, and seem to be dragging on already, and I have only tuned in for a few episodes. There are two characters called Nikki and Adrian, and they have children together, but are separated. Events like an armed robbery keep on happening, but it seems as if there isn;t going to be a climax to the plot. That goes for this other character called Cat, she is portrayed as a boozy woman, who sleeps around a lot, but doesn't have much purpose other ...  Read the complete review

God! Where to start I do watch this show each week and man it is crazy!!! There's drugs, crime, sex and much more madness. The families are so crazy sometimes i have to wonder "can this all really happen" but you get addicted to the show. Ok let me tell you what i mean, there's this family called the Warrington’s. The mum is having an affair with her stepson, while her stepdaughter (who is a druggy) had sex with her real mums boyfriend and then tried it on with her tutor. The dad had a brief fling with his ex wife. So much madness you just have to watch it ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Family Affairs: Affairs, Affairs, Affairs! (373 words)

The problem with soap operas is that all the storylines revolve around the same people, so that you are inevitably going to get some "Family Affairs". It seems to me that this show does it particularly well, and often. I must admit, I'm a fairly recent convert, so didn't see the original cast. We do seem to have some rather interesting characters at the mo though. Cat and Dave are particularly fab. Cat, you may remember was married to Nigel in Eastenders before she pegged it and plays such a different role in this show. I'm not one to mock the afflicted, being none too tiny in the buttock region myself, but they must be paying her a ...  Read the complete review
