Disadvantages: A waste of programming money

It's obvious that Family Affairs won't be getting much more at the Soap Awards next year. This could be because the show can't be taken seriously whatsoever as there is abosolutely no realism created and the actors are about as good as a group of untrained chimps. Give me a P.G. Tips ad any day of the week over an episode of Family Affairs.

I would agree that it is difficult for a relatively new soap to compete with the very established Coronation Street, Eastenders, Emmerdale and Brookside but this effort is a long way from becoming a firm favourite.

It needs more credibilty, better acting skills and more believable plot lines.
